Last week, the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) Student Advisory Council hosted a Student Leadership Summit in Casper, where various leadership topics were discussed, including "leading by example" and "vocal leadership." Among the attendees from Upton were sophomores Keanu Duarte and Caden Simianer, as well as freshman Paige Mills and Will Bowen. Additionally, Karstyn Garcia, a second-year member of the WHSAA Student Advisory Council, participated in the event.
These students are now part of the Blue & White Club at Upton High School. As members, they will be responsible for creating a positive atmosphere at upcoming home events, ensuring an engaging and supportive environment for all stakeholders involved.

Congratulations to Business Manager Roxie Taft and Board Chairman Curtis Rankin for being honored at the Wyoming School Board Association banquet in Casper. Roxie received the Golden Bell award from the WSBA and Curtis was named to the All Wyoming School Board.

Upton High School Students Visit Thunder Basin High School for a VEX Robotics Exchange

In an exciting demonstration of innovation, teamwork, and mentorship, students from Upton High School recently visited Thunder Basin High School to share their experiences and knowledge in VEX Robotics. The event was part of a collaborative initiative designed to inspire and educate young minds about robotics and engineering through hands-on interaction.
The visiting students from Upton brought along their own robot. Thunder Basin students explained the basics of the VEX Robotics competition, a popular international platform where teams design and control robots to complete various tasks and challenges. Through live demonstrations, students illustrated how they navigate their robots and highlighted the engineering concepts that go into building a successful VEX robot.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to ask questions, interact with the robots, and even test out some basic programming. The students offered valuable insights into the design process, from initial brainstorming to testing and troubleshooting, as well as sharing stories of their experiences competing in VEX Robotics tournaments.
In addition to hands-on activities, the visit emphasized the importance of STEM education and how programs like VEX Robotics provide a fun and challenging way to engage with science, technology, engineering, and math. Students shared how robotics competitions have helped them build critical skills, from teamwork and communication to perseverance and creative thinking.
As the day concluded, both Upton and Thunder Basin students left feeling inspired and excited about future opportunities in robotics. The visit not only allowed students to gain new knowledge but also encouraged them to consider forming their own VEX Robotics team. It was a perfect example of how peer mentorship and collaboration can ignite a passion for learning and create a strong foundation for future innovation.
This exchange between Upton and Thunder Basin was a positive step toward building a community of young robotics enthusiasts who will continue to learn, compete, and inspire one another in the world of STEM.

FBLA FIRST RESPONDER AND VETERANS APPRECIATION SUPPER
The Upton High School Future Business Leaders of America had their First Responder and Veterans Appreciation Supper in the high school commons on November 11th at 6:00 pm. Students greeted and thanked the Veterans at the door. Veterans signed stars on the flag that the FBLA chapter made to honor them. Everyone enjoyed chili and cinnamon rolls served by the FBLA members. Thank you videos were presented and Veterans and First Responders shared information about their service. The FBLA would like to thank all those that attended.
There are twenty fbla members who received the member of the month for October.
